It’s a natural response to run away when you’re confronted with a mind that doesn’t resemble yours, but that doesn’t make it ok. Valuing your opinion more than you value engaging others is not wisdom, it’s pride. Don’t be so afraid of uncertainty. Everyone is learning and growing, so neither avoidance nor aggression is appropriate. Know that unless you stop limiting your interactions to carbon copies of yourself, you will grow stale, stiff, and cold. And what a shame to let that happen simply because you never wanted to risk feeling uncomfortable.
